October Trip to Louisville

We went to Louisville the weekend of October 11th to visit with my family. We had not seen them since Labor Day weekend so I was definitely ready to get home. Liam has grown so much over the past month that I knew my family was going to be excited to see all of his new tricks! He turned 9 months on October 11th so I made sure to take his 9 month photos when we arrived at my parents' house.

We left for Louisville mid day on Friday so we were there for dinner time. My mom had made her famous spaghetti sauce and we had a nice pasta dinner on Friday night. The whole gang came over to see us which was nice. My nieces were pretty pumped to see Liam and they brought over bins of their old baby toys to share with him. He didn't know what to play with first! After dinner we visited a bit and then everyone went home and we went to bed so we would be ready for a big Saturday!

Liam slept through the night on Friday, which was great, but he was up early on Saturday morning ready to go. We were up about 5:30 and of course when my parents heard him up they jumped out of bed ready to play with him. He played for about an hour and then went down for his morning nap. He slept for a long time and that gave me a chance to fit in a little work out with my Mom. Dad and Michael both were able to get some extra rest during Liam's nap time. My parents now have a hot tub so after my work out I was able to sit in there for a little while--it was a nice treat.

After Liam got up from his nap we met my sisters and their kiddos at Lane and Finley's school for their little fall festival. It was a fund raiser so their school could get new carpet. They had different booths set up and you could buy tickets to play the games. Liam didn't really know what was going on, but he loved watching the other kids and even played the duck pond game. After the festival Mom took Liam back to her house for a nap and Michael and I went with Jackie, Ryan, and Harper to see Addison Grace. I had not been by to visit her since her funeral and it was nice to visit.

After visiting Addison Michael and I went to see our friends Callie and Art and their new baby Lydia. Art's youngest sister Margaret was in from college so we got to see her too. Callie had Lydia in the beginning of September so I was ready to see all of them! We took them lunch and stayed over there for a few hours. It was so nice to catch up with them and meet their new little girl. We wish we were able to spend more time with them and hope to see them around the holidays.

After visiting with the Baumanns we went back to my parents house for dinner at the ranch. Michael and I picked up pizzas and salad for everyone to keep things simple. My Grandma and Grandpa Ellingsworth came out to visit and it was great to get to see them. They hadn't seem Liam for a few months so I think they were happy to get to see him as well. Chelsea (a family friend) now boards her horse on my parents' property and she came out Saturday night to ride. She lets all of the kids take a turn while she is there, and even Michael and I rode! The horse's name is Face and he is a retired thoroughbred. He's a really pretty horse and the kids get a kick out of him. After playing outside and riding the horse everyone went home and we went to bed.

Sunday morning we met the Forst family for mass. (Mom, Dad, and the Hornsteins went to an earlier mass, but we could not get ourselves out of bed on Sunday!) After mass everyone met at a little farm near my parents' house to go on a hayride and pick out pumpkins. We were also able to see some farm animals and take some cute pictures of the kids. After the pumpkin patch we went back to my parents' for lunch and naps. Once Liam got up from his nap and played a little we packed up and then decided to head back to Knoxville. It is always hard saying goodbye, but we had a wonderful trip and were able to do so many fun things while we were there!
