A Change of Plans at Christmas

The month of December has been a busy one! There is always so much to do when you are getting ready for the holiday and wrapping up work for the year. We were planning to go to Louisville for Christmas break, but my doctor decided that I should not travel so far from home. I went for a doctor's appointment on December 19th and was diagnosed with gestational hypertension. While at the doctor they did a non-stress test to monitor the baby's movement and his heart rate to make sure he was ok, and he passed the test. I also had an ultrasound and it showed everything looked good--Tribblet's measuring 5 pounds 7 ounces. From here until I have the baby I will be going to the doctor twice a week to get my blood pressure checked and to get an ultrasound and non-stress test. I was also put on medicine and bed rest to try to keep my blood pressure down.

We were able to spend Christmas Day at Michael's parents' house, I just had to stay on the couch for most of the day :) It was a nice relaxing day, and of course the food was fabulous!

I had another appointment on December 26th and my blood pressure was still high. I had a non-stress test and ultrasound at this appointment too and everything still looks good with the baby. I was put on more strict bed rest and may have to increase my medicine if my blood pressure stays elevated. The doctor told me that their goal is to get baby to 38 weeks and if he hasn't come yet then they will induce. Looks like we are going to have a January baby!!

Thanksgiving and Such

I need to catch up on blogging a bit before our new little addition arrives! I think he will be joining us earlier than expected--more on that later.

Thanksgiving was a fun week. My parents came in town for the holiday and they helped me do some house prep for the baby. My Mom was able to go to my doctor's appointment with me the Wednesday before Thanksgiving and hear the baby's heartbeat. Wednesday night I started feeling crummy, but thought if I got a good night's sleep I would feel better. No such luck. I ended up being sick the entire Thanksgiving break. My Mom and I were still able to do some closet organization and Christmas shopping though! We also got Gus a new Christmas toy while we were out (see photo below).  Meredith hosted an awesome Thanksgiving at her house and it was so nice to visit with family. Michael and Dad went to the UT/UK football game over the weekend, Mom and I decided not to go since I wasn't feeling well.  Dad said they had great seats! Even though I didn't feel that well it was nice to hava a break from work to sleep and get the house a little more organized.

My pregnancy during November was pretty uneventful, my little guy just kept growing and growing! I was also able to work out which was nice. I have a belly picture below so you can see how much bigger he has gotten!

My sister's threw a wonderful shower for me on November 3rd and I was able to see many family and friends!! We received some wonderful baby gifts at the shower and it is making it more exciting to think about our baby boy getting here in a few months! Below are some pictures of the wonderful party that my sisters planned. Thanks to both family and friends for making time to come celebrate Baby T!

Gus Grows Up

We have had Gus for almost 2 months now and he has grown quite a bit! He has learned many commands as well. He has pretty much mastered sit, and is getting better with lay down and stay. He responds quickly when I use my mom voice and say no or off. You can tell he is a smart dog and I think he is going to learn quickly. He really enjoys being outside and these fall days are perfect for him to play outside while we are at work. The dog park is his favorite place and he has made a lot of friends there. He loves empty flower buckets and will chase after one for about 30 minutes straight. Even though he can do some annoying puppy things from time to time (that drive his mom crazy) we are really enjoying watching Gus grow! Below are some highlights of the past few weeks.

Wedding Season

Well it has been quite awhile since I last posted!!! October has been wedding season for us and we have been to two Nashville weddings over the past month. A friend Michael played football with (Brian) got married the first weekend of October and our friends Kate and Dave were married the last weekend of October. Both celebrations were so much fun and it was nice to get to catch up with friends from college that we had not seen for awhile. I was in Kate's wedding and I was so happy that my bridesmaid dress fit!  Below are some pictures from both events.

New Addition to the Family: A Dog Named Gus

Since we lost Maggie this past summer Michael has been ready to get another dog. He has wanted a lab for a long time so he decided to do his research and find a good breeder in the area. He went to look at some puppies while I was out of town on a girls' trip in September and he found Gus. He brought Gus home on September 25th. I think Gus has been adjusting well to his new home.  Below are some pictures of him over the past few weeks! He is getting bigger by the day.
