Labor Day Weekend at the Lake

We decided to go to Barren River Lake for Labor Day weekend. The Nash family has a picnic at my Grandma's cabin for anyone who is available to come. This year it was a smaller gathering but still a lot of fun! Michael, Liam, and I arrived at the cabin on Thursday so we got to stay a full 3 days. It was so nice to get away, swim, and go for some boat rides. My entire immediate family was there and we were all able to go on the water together on Saturday morning and Monday morning! With 4 little kids we aren't always able to do things at one time so this was a nice treat.

On Friday it was just my dad, Michael, Liam, Gus, and me. We all went on a boat ride after cutting the grass that morning and the pictures from the ride are priceless. It was such a nice day with all of my boys. The picnic on Sunday was rainy, but we still played on the water bouncy and enjoyed food and family. It was a lovely weekend!

First Day of School: August 26, 2014

Liam started in the toddler room this year at Cokesbury Children's Center. He goes to a mother's day out program Tuesday and Thursday every week. The day starts at 9:00 a.m. and ends at 2:00 p.m. He loves the program and was in the infant room last year. Liam is required to take a nap on a nap mat in the toddler room and I wasn't sure how this was going to go. So far so good! Liam has been napping on the floor on his new nap mat. I shouldn't be surprised, he inherited his sleeping habits from his Pop, meaning he can sleep just about anywhere. Liam had a good first day and his note home said he was a social butterfly :) We are excited about another fun year at Cokesbury!!

Week of August 18th and Baby George

Liam and I traveled to Louisville the week of August 18th to welcome Jackie's son, George, to the world. George Richard Hornstein was born on August 19th. It was a difficult day because we had to say goodbye to that sweet angel baby the same day. Although it was a difficult day, it was also very beautiful. It was humbling to watch Jackie and Ryan's faith and to see the experience through the eyes of big sister Harper. Below are some pictures from the week. It was nice to get to spend so much time with family.
Reunited with Gus and found a new car from GiGi.
He only liked this car a little...

First Trip to Neyland Stadium

On August 16th we went to UT's open football practice. This was Liam's first time in the Neyland Stadium. He was more interested in stairs than football players, but we had fun taking him to campus. Before going to practice we stopped by World's Fair Park to run around and look at the fountains.
