New Addition to the Family: A Dog Named Gus

Since we lost Maggie this past summer Michael has been ready to get another dog. He has wanted a lab for a long time so he decided to do his research and find a good breeder in the area. He went to look at some puppies while I was out of town on a girls' trip in September and he found Gus. He brought Gus home on September 25th. I think Gus has been adjusting well to his new home.  Below are some pictures of him over the past few weeks! He is getting bigger by the day.

The Blog Begins...

I have decided to start a blog for our family.  It seems to be growing quickly so I wanted to be able to share pictures and updates along the way!  We are expecting a baby boy in February and we recently got a black lab puppy named Gus-- I know what you are thinking, we are crazy.  I am new to blogging so don't expect anything too fancy, hopefully it will get better with time.

When I found out I was pregnant in late May I decided I wanted to start a blog and now here we are in October and I am finally getting to it!  I wanted to recap the highlights of my pregnancy and the other fun things we have been up to lately.

We found out we were expecting this past May around Memorial Day.  I had a feeling we were pregnant before I even took a test, but it was confirmed on May 22nd.  We had come home from dinner that Tuesday night and I decided to take a pregnancy test.  Michael didn't even know that I was taking one, so when I came downstairs to show him that I had a positive test is he was pretty surprised!  Michael had me take two pregnancy tests just to be sure.  Needless to say we were thrilled to find out we were going to be parents.

Even though I am getting bigger now and moving slower, I have had a really smooth and healthy pregnancy.  We feel so blessed that everyone is healthy and growing at a steady rate!  Below are some pregnancy highlights!

First Doctor's Appointment and Ultrasound 6/13/12 (6 weeks 5 days)

Had my first "sure" moment of feeling the baby move  on Saturday 8/18, also went maternity clothes shopping this day

20 weeks, we are half way there

21 weeks and 2 days at Orange Beach (9/23/12).  Took a girls' trip to celebrate my friend Kate's upcoming wedding!  This weekend I felt the baby move a lot--this was the first time I could feel and see him move from the outside, clearly he liked the ocean.  

Was able to dig a hole in the sand so I could lay on my belly--it was great!

Michael felt the baby move first the first time Monday night (9/24) the day I got home from the beach!
